Project Statement:
This project investigates the effects of flooding of the Aberjona River on the Winchester Center region as to how the effects can be allivitated through landscape solutions. Presently, damages from flooding causes a cost burden on families, buisnesses and the town as well as to the environment in the river flood plane. Landscape solutions will make this area resilient to flooding by features that sequester the volumes of water using natural systems that can also be a benefit to the local residents for recreation and enables growth in the town. This framework demonstrates how local flooding problems can be minimized through scaleable landscape solutions which are applicable to flood prone areas.
